I called for service to have an electrical outlet installed for a wall mount TV. I was offered an appointment within 24 hours. Patrick arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He provided me a quote for the work prior to beginning so I knew exactly what the cost would be. He took measurements to determine the appropriate placement of the outlet for the wall mounted TV. He helped me decide if I needed the cable outlet placed, as well. His work was done efficiently and neatly. I plan to have him return to install a ceiling fan. Will was truly amazing! His assistant Noah was also super! They work well together! Will explained everything, cost, suggestions, and design before even starting the work! He basically gave us 2 prices, one which was cheaper and another quote which we preferred! He resolved our dark kitchen into a bright spot with LED hightops! They also converted 2-prong outlet to 3 grounded ones! They were both extremely courteous and made sure we knew what they were doing! They kept everything neat, from plastic sheeting to foot coverings! It was truly a remarkable experience to work with a company who has such remarkable employees such as Will and Noah! Competitive prices, friendly techs, always timely and, most importantly, they do great work. Martella Electric is a family owned business with the experience, knowledge and professionalism that surpasses any national organization I’ve ever used. I’ve had them out to my home several times now for various issues and they’ve always done right by me. A recent service call, though, was what finally compelled me to leave this review: This week I needed to have an outlet put in for a new washing machine I purchased before the holidays (my current washer/dryer tower was older than I was and had finally died). I called Martella the day before Christmas Eve expecting them to be booked through the holidays. The woman in their offices, Kathy, was polite and kind in getting me scheduled and they had a tech out to me that same morning. She even called back to make sure it was okay if they arrived a few hours early, which I greatly appreciated. Their tech, Will, arrived when they said he would and was helpful in explaining to me what it would take to get an outlet installed for my new washer. I had initially thought this could be done by tapping into an existing circuit but Will explained to me that, for a major appliance like this, it would need its own dedicated circuit. While it sounded like a larger job than I originally anticipated, Will walked me through the process step-by-step and assured me it could be done that same day in just a few hours and that it was really the only way to do this safely and properly. He also told me he would patch any holes he made in the walls and ceiling (which sounded like there would be quite a few) that they needed to get the electrical lines over each of the joists in the ceiling running from the breaker box to the washer closet. So with my approval he was set to get started immediately. While he was setting up, unfortunately we discovered that my breaker box was not only completely at capacity and couldn’t even take any more circuits but that it was overloaded, some of the circuits were currently flipped and giving off a good amount of heat and I would continue to trip the breakers if left unaddressed, which I confirmed to him had been happening in my kitchen with several outlets and appliances. There was even scorching on one of the terminal lugs (I want to note: he did say that he couldn’t say for certain the cause of this, that it could’ve just been the previous owner/electrician smacking a wrench against it by accident and causing it to spark, but given what the rest of the box looked like, he suspected it was from being overloaded). He walked me through the process of what it would take to fix this issue; why it would need to be rectified before installing a dedicated circuit for the washing machine and patiently explained why this potentially could be a more serious issue down the line if left unaddressed. I want to emphasize that he didn’t use scare tactics or push any upgrades or repairs on me or try to upsell any services but instead was very helpful in walking me through my options and took the time to provide several quotes for my different levels of service options and whole home surge protections. I decided to go ahead with the repairs and upgrade the entire breaker box (my current one must’ve been 30+ years old) and he was able to provide a quote and schedule a time to do all the work within the week, assuring me the job itself would take close to a full day but no longer. Throughout the hour he was here he answered all my questions and then explained everything a second time for my mother who had just arrived as he was wrapping up, as I wanted a second opinion on which of my service options to proceed with. It’s unfortunate to uncover problems like this when dealing with upgrading your home but by the time I put down a deposit for the job, I felt confident and comfortable with using Martella and will be relying on and recommending them again in the future. Date of service: 12/23/25 I will update once the job is completed next week.
